The trail to Zimchurud Gorge begins from the Varzob highway, near the village of Varzobkala, which is about 24 kilometers away from Dushanbe, a little before reaching the village of Varzob. After some time past this village, the next village, Zimchurud, appears. I think the name "Zimchurud Gorge" comes from the name of the village rather than the river, as is usually the case. This is because the river here is called Angoriso, which is a tributary of the Varzob River.
It is better to arrange a ride with a driver from the Varzob highway for a small fee, and they usually agree to take you to the store in Zimchurud village. If you don't do this, you will have to walk a long way to pass through all these villages. Even after reaching the store, you still need to walk a decent distance to finally get to the mountains.
Beyond the village, there are many houses along the river, but then there is a small grove with a small waterfall and a pond on the stream. Crossing it, we finally come out onto the trail.
On the trail such views await us. Looking ahead.
And if you look back, then these are the views.
Further, the trail leaves the slope and leads along a rocky area, or rather between the rocks.
The Angorisoy River is very transparent here, I don't know if it depends on the weather or it is always like this here.
And our way goes further among the picturesque rocks.
Further, trees appear on this rocky area, some of them look very unusual.
The trail goes up to the left, and the river to the right, here a small section of the trail leaves the river and goes directly along the slope.
Here are pictures from this section of the trail towards the village from where we came.
These are pictures from the left and right, respectively, in the direction of travel.
And somewhere on this section, the trail passes and it becomes clear what is further there.
When descending, the trail falls into such a grove, or just a section overgrown with trees.
Gradually descending, we reach a river, and right next to the river we are met by such a stump that resembles a goblin, or maybe it is, guards the clearing that begins to the right of him...
There is a convenient place for parking in the clearing, but because of the rain it was dripping heavily.
We decided to stop in the center of the meadow, here in the photo you can see a tree under which we settled down due to the fact that the tree trunk is slightly inclined, it was dry there. We made a fire, dried ourselves, warmed up, had lunch and headed back.
Best wishes to you.
Until next time.
