The peak of Gushor is well visible from any point in Dushanbe. I have been planning to climb it for a long time, and finally I did it. The mountain, or rather the peak of Gushor, is one of the peaks that crown the Chilikak ridge. This ridge stretches from the Varzob River (approximately 16-21 kilometers from the Varzob highway) to the Luchob River in the area of the village of Shiratalo. The Gushor peak (2450 meters) is not the highest point of the Chilikak ridge; there is another peak with a weather station above it (2552 meters), another unnamed peak (2606 meters), and the highest point, the Chilokak peak (2702 meters), which is already closer to Shiratalo and cannot be seen from the city.
The main goal of this one-day hike was the Gushor peak and, if possible, to go further. However, there was no such opportunity, I only climbed Gushor, and it was time to return. Well, I had to leave something for other hikes. Besides, the staff at the weather station were actively working, probably doing some preventive maintenance work, as it is spring. Who knows, maybe they are against idle visitors, especially those with a camera, as everyone is a safety expert these days.
I took the city bus number 24 and arrived at this panel that invites to the Varzob area, and accordingly, to the Varzob gorge.
I crossed this bridge to the Dagan village. Previously, there was a recreation area called "Textile Worker" on the left side, but apparently it is called something else now. I even rested here a long time ago. The goal of my hike looms in the distance.
You don't have to wander here, if you go not along the main roads, but directly, there is such a path, then the village is passed quite quickly.
At the exit there is a spring with an interesting tree, from the side it seems to be ordinary, but if from a different angle ... It was a big tree, but time is inexorable.
Here is the village and the tree behind.
Now only up.
The first rocky obstacle.
I walked around it along this path.
Where I met just such a lizard, which did not frighten me at all, was at first my back, when I began to photograph, did not run away as usual, but turned and began to pose...
The village is already lost sight of.
And the views are getting better.
There is still a rocky area ahead, and above the Gushor peak and a peak with a weather station are already visible.
Alakchin village is already visible from this side.
Bypassing the rocky area.
We move on, it is not very visible here, but a herd was being driven towards me and so that they would not collide, I turned right.
At the same time I walked around the rocky areas.
There is still snow on the sidelines.
But tulips also come across.
Finally, having circled, I came out to the ridge, from where it is already possible to walk simply along the top to the Gushor peak.
From here you can already admire the views.
The village of Gusgarf became visible.
Overcame another mark, but this is not the home stretch yet.
View of Alakchin and towards Gissar.
This is the view from where I'm coming.
Now the finish line, now I am at the next unnamed peak, and further through the hollow there is Gushor peak. Further, the weather station is visible.
Views from this unnamed peak.
Also from here I can see Big Gusgarf waterfall, if, of course, look at the photo ...
Here, in the hollow between the peaks, the snow has not yet melted, but there are flowers too.
I am in place, peak Gushor, the pieces of iron are standing, everything is as it should be.
Photos from Gushor peak in different directions, in general, there is nothing to comment on.
There was still a little time left, so for the sake of completeness I went down to the next hollow, so that from all sides and from here I turned back.
Of course, I haven't forgotten about the view of Dushanbe, I just decided to lay them out in one block. But, the photos did not turn out very well, firstly, there was a haze, and secondly, it requires more serious photographic equipment than the one that I have, so do not blame me. Photos are laid out in chronological order as it went up and down.
Throughout the hike, large birds circled over the mountain - various ones, but I couldn't manage to take a photo because they were either too far away or flew by too quickly. However, when I was descending, two large birds put on a whole show, quite close to me. I even stopped to watch - it was beautiful. Unfortunately, photos cannot convey the impression. It even seemed like the mountain was saying goodbye to me in such a beautiful way. Not really saying goodbye, but rather, "Goodbye, come back again, we'll be waiting for you here." ..."
Here's a small, but very cool hike for the first of May.
All the best to you! Until next time
and new interesting hikes.
